Deep Creek Wedding: Day Three

We had lots of things to do on Rehearsal Dinner Day. The guys went golfing, girls went to get nails done and get the groceries for the dinner. We had the rehearsal, then dinner at the family house and then we headed up to the house where most of our friends were staying to visit with everyone. The wedding was in Waterfront Greens and people rented about 5-6 houses in that area.

Grinning and bearing it.

Attempting to relax!

Where we got our nails did.

The ringbearers duking it out. Apparently someone told all the kids that if they went in the water there was a dead lady who would reach out and grab them and drag them under. Brilliant parenting trick to keep them away from the waters edge.

Getting ready for the rehearsal.

Steph and Kevin.

Group shot before heading over to the other houses. We got the sillies.

Lovely picture except for the wet spot on my shirt.

Deep Creek Wedding: Day Two

On the second day of the trip, Joe, Steph and I headed to Wal-Mart (shout out to Oakland!) to do the grocery shopping for our house. Steph, Kevin, Mike, Emily, Joe and myself all stayed in one house and all of their families stayed in one next door. We unpacked, checked out the wedding tent, and Joe and I went for a run in the rain. We had a group dinner with all of their families and a few friends that came up early.

Joe playing his Charlie Brown piano that we found in our room.

Our room, which was great for sneaking peeks at the wedding guests while they mingled during the cocktail hour. The girls shared a few beers in this room while waiting to walk down the aisle.

Our kitchen and dining area. To the left is a sliding glass door where we all walked out of the house and down to the water where the ceremony was held.

View of the family room overlooking the lake. The house was gorgeous and we felt like Big Timers since we only used 3 out of the 5 bedrooms! HOWEVER, there was no hot water the entire weekend. Big boo boo Railey Rentals.

Working out in the foyer cause it was the only big mirror other than the bathroom. And who wants to lift weights next to the toilet??

Two adorable flower girls. Emily's nieces, Chloe and Aubrey. There were actually more kids in the bridal party than adults... 4 flower girls and 2 ring bearers.

The kitchen. Obviously.

Pizza night at our house.

This is what somene looks like who is about to get married and hasn't finished his wedding dance party mix.

This is what someone looks like who has been married almost 7 years and doesn't have to plan a wedding until his unborn future children get married and is loving life on vacation at the lake.

A bride and her *Maids of Honor
*If you want to get technical about it, I was a Matron of Honor and Steph was the Maid....but Matron sounds old and allll matronly like.

Aubreylicious

Chloelicious.

Round Robin card game after pizza. Paper plates were the easiest thing to keep score on!

Deep Creek Wedding: Day One

Our friends, Mike and Emily got married on September 18th at Deep Creek Lake. Joe was a groomsman and Steph and I were co-Maids of Honor. It was a great weekend and the weather was amazing on the day of the wedding! So here is the first part of the trip...

We left on Wednesday night for the Iskows house at Alpine Lake with me, Joe and Steph in the truck and Mike and Emily in their car. We had a LOT of stuff to transport and a four hour ride there. We stopped at Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner and had a really funny waitress who hit a little boy in the head with a water pitcher, got every single one of our dinner orders incorrect, and once we asked for boxes for all our leftovers, she suggested we take some beano with us for the rest of the car ride. :)

Getting ready to leave in front of Mike and Emily's house. Which can now be called the Cheman's house. Kevin couldn't come up with us due to work conflicts. But it was for the best because there really wasn't room for his head in the car.

Packed to the brim. With a wedding dress on top!

So sad about her tight travel space. This is same look she gave when she was forced to sit in the back of the minivan with Josh because I was the awesome older sister who claimed the middle row all to myself for trips to the beach.

Our driver for the daytime part of the trip.

Almost newlyweds.

The origins of Alpine Pong started at this table, in this house, with these teams. And we have played with the same teams for the last year and a half and this is the team that always loses. Every squirrel finds a nut and every once in awhile this team finds a cup, but in general, my team prevails.

A few messups before we captured that perfect jump shot. You think we would have perfected it by now but it was a new camera!

We got it!

30.

Joe turns 30 years old on September 28th. I threw him an unsurprise party on Saturday. Apparently you have to be a secret ops agent to be able to get one by on ol' Joe. We had family, friends, food, beer, and 99 Luftballoons! Happy Birthday Jojo.. you are the best husband a very grateful wife could ask for! I love you even though you are an old fart now.

30!

Memory board of Joe with friends and family.

Mom Iskow, Cousin Beth, Mini-cousin Mason, and Aunt Kathy. Thanks for coming out to celebrate with us! Mason is a great swimmer!

Cute. And he knows it.
Cute. And he knows it too.

"For he's a jolly good fellow" by request from the good fellow himself.

Joe has always wanted to dance in a room filled with red balloons and dance to "99 Luftballoons". Thanks to all the friends who helped blow up 300 balloons!!! This actually turned out way cooler than I expected with the lights flashing on and off, balloons flying and people dancing! I like how Katie is hiding on the treadmill.

The Nila got Iced!

My Frenchman

I worked the last 3 days in a row which can be ridiculously exhausting. Dayshift has been very different than nights and by that I mean BUSIER! I rarely get more than 15 mins to cram lunch down my face, most of the time working as I eat. I use the bathroom twice maybe three times in the 14 hours I am gone from home. On Wed I was actually paged to come to my pt's room immediately while I was trying to pee for the first time in 8 hours. So when I get home I want to sit down, eat, and then sleep! I get home around 8:30pm and am usually in bed before 10. So on Thursday night when I came home from my last shift I found something unusual.

Joe.

Wearing his suit.

Speaking French.

Well, English in a French accent.

He made me dinner and treated me like I was in a restaurant in Paris. Until the accent got annoying and the suit uncomfortable. Then we hit the couch in our PJs and watched all the new Thursday night shows with our margaritas. Good night and yummy dinner! Bon Soir!
